How do I obtain a hull identification number for a homemade boat in Ontario, Canada?

I am planning on building a home made wood strip boat, and before I start, I am wondering if there is anyone who can help me figure out the steps to getting a hull identification number. The boat will be used/registered in Ontario Canada. Thanks.

Go to the place where you register boats, and tell them that you are going to build one, and ask how you get a registration number.
