How long would it take to travel from Meaford Ontario to Killarney Ontario by canoe?
Its 104mi if you travel straight across the Georgian Bay. Lets jsut say this is feasible and you don’t get killed, at an average canoe speed of 5mph it would take you 21 hours straight to canoe it. That would be 21 hours of exposed canoeing in open and very turbulent waters. In essence, you likely won’t make it.
If you were to hug the shoreline its about 150km and that is still being a mile or two from the shoreline, in some instances cutting off entire bays, which means massive exposure to the lake itself. But ignoring that, it would take 30 hours non-stop at 5mph which means perfect weather and good solid paddling.
Not going to happen unless you are a very well trained and experienced canoeist. I would say for a normal person, it would take close to a week (inludin resting, eating and bad weather) and even if you hugged the shore, it would be a very rough ride, so expect it to be closer to one and a half weeks.
And 5mph canoeing is VERY fast in a canoe, and maintaining that speed for length takes training, the average canoeist can paddle 2.5 mph, so it could be safe to say almost double the times I estimated you at.

After you went there, you can tell me the answer!

Depends on who's rowing the thing. I could probably do it over my lunch break……

You so could not canoe that in a lunch break. You get a thumbs down for that answer alone.

You got a motor or are going to paddle all the way?

9 hours if you could travel at 6km/h.

I've done marathon canoe racing and my partner and I did 64km in 10 hours last year (North Bay to Mattawa) and we're fairly strong paddlers. That included portages and equiptment issues.
