How much would it cost to go from Peterborough Ontario to Los Angeles in the US?

I pretty much HAVE to go to LA – I have NO idea how much that will cost. It’s by plane. &If you don’t know where Peterborough is, its about 2 – 2 1/2 hours away from Toronto. Any ideas how much it will cost to get there…and back?

You’ll want to figure in the cost of getting to Toronto airport. Coach Canada will do a shared van picking you up at your house for $94 each way, or $82 from/to the Coach Canada office in Peterborough. If you’re thinking of driving and leaving the car there, be sure to research the parking options ahead of time since this can be very expensive. Or you can get someone to drive you to Port Hope and catch a Coach Canada bus from there at $39.30 each way (note that you have to book a pickup ahead of time)

Plane ticket prices depend a lot on how long ahead you book and how flexible you can be. Picking a couple of midweek days in late October, (mid-week days are generally cheapest) I first found the cheapest flights to be $549CDN on US Airways, using Expedia. Checking airline websites directly (sometimes they have deals that Expedia doesn’t), I found the cheapest Air Canada fare to be about $631CDN and the cheapest US Airways one to be about $582 US.

If someone else (an employer, for example) will be paying for your travel, remember to include all expenses, including mileage for a personal vehicle driving to the airport or a bus pickup.

You HAVE to go to LA? Expect it to be about $700 return from Toronto to LAX. From Peterborough to TO, you are on your own.
